2008 Greenlight Laser Prostatectomy Workshop
This workshop with Dr Fernando Gomez-Sancha from Spain, Dr Tom Dean and Dr Henry Woo is aimed at all consultants, registrars and trainees working in urology. The workshop will cover the theory behind photoselective vaporisation of the prostate with special attention to the lithium triborate (LBO) laser as used in the HPS machine that has now replaced KTP greenlight laser.
The workshop will also feature interactive presentations including discussion on case selection, technique and the management of the more difficult clinical scenarios. The current literature with the most immediately available data will be presented. A highlight will be the interactive live case demonstrations which will reinforce the theoretical discussion of the modular approach to greenlight laser prostatectomy as well as advanced techniques to deal with difficult operative scenarios.
