Governance

The Executive Committee

The Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand is governed by an Executive Committee. This committee is elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. The Executive includes the President of the Society, as well as a Vice President, Past President, Secretary, Treasurer, representatives from the Sections and the Chairpersons of several sub-committees. The Executive meets four times a year.

Sections of the Society

The Society includes Sections from the States and New Zealand. The Sections have a role in training and education, organise scientific meetings for Section members and administer some grants and awards. Sections may deal with matters that are specific to a particular State or New Zealand. They also facilitate discussion and debate on society policies and initiatives.

Working groups and sub-committees

From time to time the Executive will set up a working group or sub-committee to oversee an aspect of the Society's activities. For example, there is a Continuing Professional Development Committee that oversees the Society's Continuing Professional Development Program, and an Education Policy Committee that acts as a think tank on educational issues.

The Society has also established a number of Special Advisory Groups to advise the Executive and the CPD Committee and assist in the organisation of educational activities for the membership as a whole.
