Celebrating USANZ Members

Knight's Medal Recipient

USANZ Member Prof Mohamed Khadra AO recently received the Knight's Medal from the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) in recognition of his exceptional contributions to health.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mohamed has demonstrated committment to advancing healthcare, pioneering surgical innovations, and paving the way for future leaders.

The WLCU is an independent, non-political and non-religious organisation which aims to preserve and promote Lebanese heritage, strengthen global community ties, and honour individuals whose integrity, compassion and service to humanity exemplify the values of the union. As the highest honour bestowed by the WLCU, the Knight's Medal recognises Mohamed's outstanding leadership and dedication to serving his community and society.

The award was presented at a special awards ceremony by Dr Abraham Constantin, President of the Oceanian Continental Council. As Abraham said, Mohamed "truly emodies the Union's values".

As shared in an article by the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Mohamed expressed his gratitude to the World Lebanese Cultural Union, as well as his pride as a Lebanese Australian man:

“I am proudly Lebanese and proudly Australian. For all of us migrants, this diaspora means coming to Australia, making it our home, our nation, our culture, while never forgetting and always being proud of where we come from.”

- Prof Mohamed Khadra AO

USANZ congratulates Mohamed on this outstanding achievement in recognition of his life's work.
