Help Shape Movember's Prostate Cancer Outcomes Resource
Movember invites USANZ members to provide clinical feedback on a new prostate cancer resource, planned for launch in early 2027.
Developed through the Pan Cancer Initiative (the Australian Real-World Cancer Evidence Network) - a partnership between Movember, Cancer Australia and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing - the planned resource works with Australia’s cancer clinical quality registries to make better use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). One part of the program is a pilot in prostate cancer. It tests how PROMs collected in a registry can be shared with patients and clinicians to support informed discussion.
For this pilot Movember has built a prototype that reports EPIC-26 data from the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry of Australia and New Zealand (PCOR-ANZ). It will show what men in similar circumstances reported about their quality of life 12 months after treatment.
The resource is designed to support clinician–patient discussions:
- Before treatment: helping men compare treatment options with their clinician.
-
After treatment: helping men understand their outcomes in relation to their peers and guiding clinician-led support for side effects.
Before the final design and build, Movember is seeking clinical input including from USANZ Members. Input involves reviewing a short video of the prototype (which uses dummy data) and completing a confidential survey exploring its potential use in clinical practice. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes and closes on Friday 23 October 2026.
