Media Release: PCFA Statement
The Australian Government recently announced its intention to end funding for its Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing Program from 30 June 2027.
The PCFA has released a statement to oppose this decision and urges the government to reconsider. USANZ supports this statement.
PCFA Chairman Adjunct Associate Professor Steve Callister AM notes that thousands of men impacted by prostate cancer would be disadvantaged by the move.
USANZ President Professor Damien Bolton commented "Any change to this nationally established service must be guided by clinical evidence and careful consultation. Men must not lose access to tumour-specific expertise or experience disruption to their continuity of care".
